ABOUT
FARNDALE |
|
Farndale is
situated in the heart of the North Yorkshire Moors National Park, a few
miles north of Kirkbymoorside. It is predominantly hill farm country with
many of the farms being tended by the same family for generations.
The landscape is a
patchwork of fields, dry stone walls and farmhouses. There is a
spectacular view around every corner and a wealth of wildlife on the
doorstep.
|
 |
 |
It is a beautiful place with a pace of life slower than many people are used to.
However, every Spring, the dale fills with visitors coming to view the
famous wild daffodils that grow on the banks of the River Dove. Throughout
the rest of the year, you can enjoy the local scenery, walks and bike
rides in peace. Many of these can be started directly from these lovely cottages. |
| Among the many
hidden gems in Farndale is the National Trust owned Hall Wood, which
comes to life during May with a spectacular display of bluebells. The
entrance to the wood is less than 100 yards from the holiday cottages. |
